"This kid has nothing on Joseph Gordon Levitt."

This Best Week Ever hilarity was found via Stephanie and her Soap Box.

If loving The Beef is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

If loving Joseph-Gordon Levitt is wrong, I REALLY don't wanna be right.

Have you been to JGL's website? It's surprisingly non-annoying, if a bit self-indulgent.

I have been to his site, and yes, it can be self-indulgent. But he does mean well, and he's doing something good and creative with his celebrity status.

Every time I think of his site, I am amazed at how much the internet has changed people's lives, and how much the monolithic entertainment industry has been forced to change to keep up with technology. When I was an adolescent teeny bopper growing up in St. Thomas, the closest I could get to my favorite stars was the pinups in Bop or Teen Beat. Now you can interact with any actor who has a MySpace page and/or blog. I've actually done it, and sometimes they write back themselves. Who needs a PR company or a studio? You can let the cool people know who are and what you're about on your own.

It is a very interesting thing, Bianca. I think it can be a good thing if an actor takes care with it and thinks about it the way JGL does. But it also can be a bad thing for fans, because knowing too much about someone you admire takes the mystery away, and the mystery is often FAR more interesting than the actual person turns out to be.

I can't wait to see how people like my niece (who is 5 now) respond to the celebrity culture when she is older. It's all so much more immediate now.
